    BBC News

If only that unity had been there all along, Jeremy Corbyn would now be at 10 Downing Street and Britain would be a much better place in 3, 6,12 month from now. Isn't possible that a lot of people voted Labor, but feeling safe in the knowledge that Labor wouldn't win that Jeremy Corbyn was not going to be installed as Prime Minister. And those Labor candidates who were telling a lot of people including me that there was an awful lot of pushback against the idea of Jeremy Corbyn winning and leading. They weren't all lying, Len. Now the reality is, John, people have voted Labor because Corbyn broke through.

The image, the false image that the media tried to pin on him and he gave hope and he inspired people. And you know many of the MPs who've been knifing him in the back actually own their job to him this morning. And the increase in some of the majorities is startling not because the particular local constituency MP was somehow an extraordinary, charismatic and inspirational MP, but because of what was happening. The surge to Labor as a result of Corbyn. Let's not try to minimize what's happened here. It was an extraordinary result and it has given us all confidence that a radical agenda—remember we've been told consistently by media commentators, especially in the ring wing that you can't get anywhere with a left-wing manifesto, with policies that are too radical. Well, that's gone out of the window along with all of their…But you didn't win. Yes, we did. Yes, we did, John. We won. We won the hearts and minds of millions and millions of people and people now believe. And you know belief is the most powerful thing. Hope is something that people desperately need. Jeremy Corbyn has given them. His team are to be congratulated. What a fantastic group of people he has around him and we're going to go on to victory in the not too distant future.
