In a rare spat between two close allies, President Trump has hit back at the British Prime Minister who had condemned him for retweetng inflammatory anti-Islamic videos. Mr. Trump said Theressa May should spend less time criticizing him and pay more attention to what he called the destructive radical Islamic terrorism in Britain.
The United States has asked China to cut off oil exports to North Korea in a bid to stop Pyongyang developing nuclear weapons. The request comes after North Korea tested an inter-continental missile on Wednesday.
An inquiry has been launched into how a Bosnian war criminal Slobodan Praljak was able to commit suicide by drinking poison from a small bottle he’d smuggled into a UN court in the Hague. General Praljak drank the poison on Wednesday moments after the tribunal rejected his appeal against a 20-year jail sentence.

The United Arab Emirate has denied that a former Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq is being prevented from travelling to Cairo. Mr. Shafiq, who wants to stand as a candidate in next year’s Egyptian presidential election appeared on the Al Jazeera television to say he was being barred from leaving.
And a court in Argentina has given its verdict on the largest human rights trial in the country’s history. Two former naval officers have been sentenced to life imprisonment. 46 others were also found guilty of involvement in the torture and murder of hundreds of political opponents in the 1970s and 80s.
